For best results, leave cartridge in
printer for 8 hours after refilling so the ink can saturate the
entire sponge. (Allows ink to flow to the print head).
Note: Each time the cartridge is removed
from the printer an "empty cartridge" message appears and a blinking amber
light will come on, on the printer. Holding the paper feed (or stop/reset) button down for
3-5 sec. will allow you to override the counter.
As a side note you can see the top
of the cartridge removed from a new unused cartridge in the picture
to the right. Notice that Canon does not give you much ink in a new
cartridge. When refilling you will be putting in more ink than the
cartridge originally had. You also have the option of taking off the
top of the cartridge and just saturate the correct sponge with the
correct color of ink
and then put the top back on again.
